Description

Copper Busbar:

In electric power distribution, a Copper Busbar  is a metallic strip or bar. Which housed inside switch gear, panel boards, or bus way  for local high current power distribution. Hence Bus Bar are also used to connect high voltage equipment at electrical switch yards. And low voltage equipment in battery banks. Furthermore they are generally sufficient enough to be supported in air by insulated pillars. These features allow sufficient cooling of the conductors, and they ability to tap in at various points without creating a new joint.

How does it Work:

An electrical busbar is defined as a conductor or a group of conductor used for collecting electric power from the incoming feeders and distributes them to the outgoing feeders. In other words, it is a type of electrical junction in which all the incoming and outgoing electrical current meets.

GENERAL:

In Brief a busbar may either be supported on insulators, or else insulation may completely surround it. In fact Bus bars are protected from accidental contact either by a metal earthed enclosure or by elevation out of normal reach. . Bus bars may be enclosed in a metal housing, in the form of bus duct or busway.

Busbars may be connected to each other and to electrical apparatus by bolted, clamped, or welded connections. Busbars are metal bars used to carry large amounts of current. Often made of copper or aluminum.

If you hang from a busbar with any part of your body touching nothing will happen. But when you touch busbar while standing the ground, there is a contact between the line to ground and it will create a L-G fault. Than you will receive a heavy electric shock before the CB trip and it is enough to cause death.
